About
Welcome! My name is Pina Romeo and I am the Math Interventionist at Walsh School. I have 26 years of teaching experience and am very excited to begin my 21st year in District 92. I consider this district my family. My husband Tony and I have lived in the communities for 31 years and my children have all graduated from District 92. Education has always been very important to me. I must have instilled those same beliefs in my children. My oldest son, Anthony is a chemistry and physics teacher at Metea High School in District 204. My middle son, Michael is a Teaching and Learning coach at Bolingbrook High School. My daughter-in-law is a BCBA at Guiding Light Academy. My daughter Lia, is a speech pathologist at Walsh School. I started my career path many years ago with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from St. Xavier University. In 2008 I graduated from Lewis University with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership. In 2013 I received an endorsement from Lewis University as a Learning Behavioral Specialist. My teaching experiences have been varied. I have taught 4th grade for 15 years, ten of them at District 92. I then moved to Reed school where I taught 2nd grade for 3 years. Finally in 2011 I became a Math Interventionist. I am so excited to be working in this role. I have the opportunity work with students and teachers sharing strategies and lessons to promote fluency and understanding of math concepts. I am dedicated to making this my best year yet! I cannot wait to continue to learn and grow with your children as we embark on the challenges and great changes that are now occurring in education today. Sincerely, Mrs. Pina Romeo |
